This was a piece I made for an "Aquatic Creature" assignment. The Concept behind the picture is: a vain prince who was cursed to be ugly and slimy for 1000 years. As a catch he was given a choice: he could live out the 1000 years and come to accept himself, or be immediately changed back if he consumes the eyes of 1000 beautiful people. What choice would you make?
For my digital design class, we had to use pen and paper to produce a self portrait without lifting our pen or looking at our page. Then, after choosing one we liked, we had to upload it digitally and color it in a program of our choosing; I chose to use photoshop. We were aloud to alter our original work if we wanted, but the final product had to show some aspect of the ink drawing we started with.
Drawing Final assignment: render a walnut and two sorts of screws in any way. 24x 36 with vine charcoal, compressed charcoal, nero and black and white colti (and alot of blending stumps)
